Key Dates:
Monday 04 Sept 2023 – Wednesday 06 Sept 2023: RoboMission Preliminaries
Thursday 07 Sept 2023: Future Innovator, Future Engineers, RoboSports
Friday 08 Sept 2023*:
Morning: RoboMission Finals
Afternoon: Demonstrations, Awards and Closing Ceremony
* Volunteers on Fri 8th Sept will be assigned to other roles as required during the afternoon session.
Reporting and End:
All volunteers should register at the Administrative Meeting Room at Jurong Town Hall before 0630hrs, with the participants dismissed by 1700hrs. Volunteers may be required to stay for some time after to help with event logistics.
Incentives (as requested unless otherwise stated):

- Transport allowance (S$80 daily, subject to committed hours for event and punctuality)

AVAILABLE ROLES
Please ensure you are able to commit to the required dates and responsibilities of each role!
You are able to volunteer for multiple roles so long as the dates of volunteer do not clash e.g., Referee (RoboMission) and Referee (RoboSports).
Volunteers are choose to join in during the AM/PM or both sessions, depending on their availability.
Roles and Responsibilities
Must be available on Mon 4/9, Tues 5/9, Wed 6/9 AND Fri 8/9
Responsibilities:
- Brief teams about Surprise Rule (Preliminaries) and Surprise Mission (Finals) each morning
- Ad hoc inspection of Robots during Practice time (early warning for potential rule violations)
- Work with timekeeper to ensure each team has a fair practice session, ensuring that playing fields are kept in top condition
- Perform inspection of Robots to ensure strict compliance with WRO Regulations by having a deep understanding of the rules and the relevant LEGO Robotics Systems.
- Referee up to 6 teams of 3 students per day across the 3 RoboMission Preliminary Days and the Finals
- Score and sign off on Run results
- Coordinate with timekeeper and usher to ensure smooth running of the event by understanding the schedule and principles with which the event is being run
- Consult with Space Faculty to clarify contentious situations and ensure accurate scoring and management of the event
* Minimally available for Mon 4/9, Tues 5/9, Weds 6/9 OR Fri 8/9
Responsibilities:
- Ad hoc inspection of Robots during Practice time (early warning for potential rule violations)
- Work with timekeeper to ensure each team has a fair practice session, ensuring that playing fields are kept in top condition
- Perform inspection of Robots to ensure strict compliance with WRO Regulations by having a deep understanding of the rules and the relevant LEGO Robotics Systems.
- Referee up to 6 teams of 3 students per day across the 3 RoboMission Preliminary Days or the Finals
- Score and sign off on Run results
- Coordinate with timekeeper or usher to ensure smooth running of the event by understanding the schedule and principles with which the event is being run
- Consult with and report to Chief Referee of respective Age Group and Category
* Minimally available for Mon 4/9, Tues 5/9, Weds 6/9 OR Fri 8/9
Responsibilities:
- Ensure each team has a fair practice session, ensuring that playing fields are kept in top condition
- Time up to 6 teams of 3 students per day across the 3 RoboMission Preliminary Days or the Finals
- Provide timing for Robot Run
- [For Junior and Senior Categories] Ensure that teams report for Robot Inspections, Quarantine, and Runs in a timely and orderly manner
- Coordinate with referee or usher to ensure smooth running of the event by understanding the schedule and principles with which the event is being run
* Minimally available for Mon 4/9, Tues 5/9, Weds 6/9 OR Fri 8/9
Responsibilities:
For Large Room, Small Room, and Auditorium:
- Ensure that teams are conducting themselves in an appropriate manner
- Communicate information from Chief Referees to teams (e.g. announcement of critical timings, clarification of rules etc.)
- Communicate requests from teams to Chief Referees
- Enforcement of competition rules (e.g. no possession of equipment such as mobile phones, smart watchets etc. capable of wireless communication, no use of wireless communications including WiFi and Bluetooth on laptops etc.)
For Walkway and Holding Area:
- Ensure that teams are conducting themselves in an appropriate manner
- Enforcement of competition rules (e.g. no possession of equipment such as mobile phones, smart watchets etc. capable of wireless communication, no use of wireless communications including WiFi and Bluetooth on laptops etc.)
- Ensure that teams are moving between sites safely and efficiently, and that they know where they are supposed to be at any time
Available on Thurs 7 Sept
Responsibilities:

- Perform inspection of Robots to ensure strict compliance with WRO Regulations by having a deep understanding of the rules and the allowed materials

- Score and sign off on Run results
- Coordinate with timekeeper or usher to ensure smooth running of the event by understanding the schedule and principles with which the event is being run
- Consult with and report to Chief Referee of respective Category

- Coordinate with referee or usher to ensure smooth running of the event by understanding the schedule and principles with which the event is being run
